"Beware lest anyone rob you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the traditions of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ."
 - Colossians 2:8

My name is Tom Carpenter, and my goal is to help people defend creation based on 1 Peter 3:15 and to expose evolution based on Ephesians 5:11. I wrote a weekly creation science column which was published by the Rockdale/Newton Citizen newspaper. You may read past and current columns by clicking on the "articles" link to the left.

The Field Guide on Stone Mountain is Finished!
Don't Take Granite for Granted!

Creation scientist Jerry Akridge writes about the field guide:

"Everything about it is very helpful, Tom.  You included so many helps that are not in most field guides- the glossary, GPS coordinates, and many more.  I can tell you put a great amount of thought into it with the reader/student in mind.  You carry the reader from the basics through more complex geology.  The complex part is written such that an interested reader with little or no geology training can understand it.  Even those professionals in geoscience who have not thought about or studied some of the items/concepts covered will profit as well.  The articles on radiometric dating and polonium radiohalos are well done and very fitting in the guide.

I am happy for you in turning out such a great Field Guide.  It will be an invaluable tool for the people you carry on the pluton and for others as well.  Someone studying the guide can well understand Stone Mountain from a creationist perspective.  A person could take the book, and without ever having been to SM, could self guide himself through your tour.  That means it is written such that those you carry there will have this tool as a great reference to look back to in their own study and teaching.  They can relive the tour through the book.  It should be a great asset to homeschoolers also.  After a tour, the teacher can use it for a text to teach and test the students.

Great job, Tom!  You are an invaluable asset to Creation Science and to the Lord's work!  Please keep up your excellent service!
